From The Land of Kings to The Land of Fire & Ice

Iceland — what a huge contrast from India. Just after my long, hot trip to India, it was time for some cold weather. Iceland was the perfect destination due to timing and proximity. I knew it was going to be an epic adventure, yet my idea for the film changed drastically during my first week there because my only long lens got soaked! Arg, bummer! This left me with a simple wide angle 20mm lens to make something happen.

I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world. Traveling - leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.

The magic of solo dancing

The concept started from a simple experiment by framing myself against a beautiful backdrop ( pretty much anywhere in Iceland ) and making some crazy dance moves. When I looked back at the footage, the idea clicked and suddenly I knew what I needed to do. I prepared a series of dance moves across different locations including glaciers, caves, waterfalls, and mountains. I had no idea what song would work for this concept, but I knew it would come along eventually. On my last day, while driving back to my place.. i heard "Solo Dance" by Indiana on my random playlist and immediately I knew that was it!

Behind the Scenes

I can't even begin to describe the majestic scenery of this country. All I know is that GOD lives here.
